Scientific coworker in the Institute of Physiology and Biokybernetics at the same university and habilitation in physiology in 1972;
Professor of Physiology in 1978 at the medical faculty of the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg;
Chair of Physiology and Physiopathology of the University of Witten/Herdecke in 1983;
Head (additionally) of the Electropathological Research Center of the University of Witten/Herdecke in 1988;
Main research interests cardiac and skeletalmuscle cells, nerve, electrophysiology of biomedical implants, chronobiology, sleep research in general, melatonin, electromagnetic hypersensitivity;
