  Ph.D., MD, Professor
  Head of Department of Estimation and Prediction of the Cardiovascular system' functional state in Space Flight of State Research Center RF - Institute of Biomedical Problems (IBMP). He was born 03.08.1928. In 1952 has ended Saratov medical institute and than worked military doctor in Air Forces. From 1959 works in the field of a space medicine. Participated in preparation of the first manned space flights. In the beginning of 60-th years a method of heart rate variability analysis for valuation of a utonomic regulation he was developed and introduced in practice of space researches. Since 1964 R.M. Baevsky works as head of laboratory in IBMP. He was awarded M.D. in 1965 and Professor in 1973 He was actively engaged is advanced of space cardiology and introduction in practice of a space medicine of automatic means of processing and analysis of the medical information. Under a management of R.M. Baevsky in on orbital stations "Salyut" and "Mir" were for the first time used the method of the Holter monitoring and such methods of study of the cardiac contractility as ballistocardiography and seismocardiography as well as method contactless ballistocardiography for medical investigations in a night period of days. He has more than 300 publications and 13 monographies. His principal interest in space cardiology, cardiovascular physiology, espetialy - heart rate variability. He actively developed the space technologies for medical practice.
